"Invocation" is a prayer for the future of the Earth and its children. The Bristlecone pine at its center reappears throughout the Revival series, weather- worn yet resilient. Here the bare tree reaches toward the moon, asking and waiting in stillness for revitalizing energy.
* Part of the "Revival" series, inspired by the ancient terrain of Bryce Canyon National Park and themes of ecological survival and renewal. The work grew from memories of hiking its trails while pregnant with my second child, during a time of uncertainty about her growth. There among the amphitheaters, I witnessed weathered trees clinging to bare cliffs and stone, defying the arid terrain. That resilience became a source of hope.
